Bonejour, a one-of-a-kind gourmet bakery and gift shop has opened in Sarasota
and caters to mans’ best friend, our dogs. Bone-jour is now open at 9122 Town
Center Parkway, Suite 108, Lake-wood Ranch in the Courtyard by Market Square.
“We are unique because we are baking all natural, gourmet dog treats
on-site,” said Eileen O’Neil, owner.
 In addition to a selection of baked goods for dogs, Bonejour features a
selection of accessories for both dogs and cats including beds, clothing, toys,
and collectibles.
 Another feature of the store is the birthday and mail order
programs. Birthday cakes for dogs are prepared on-site and the mail order
program enables pet owners to have freshly prepared dog treats mailed to their
home each month. Leashed pets are welcome at Bonejour, which is open Monday
-Saturday from 10 am - 7 p.m, and Sunday from 12 p.m - 4 p.m. For information,

Bette Stevens’ Back Allie Art Gallery, which features hooked and woven
rugs, painted silk, jewelry and more, has moved to 1938 Adams Lane, Suite 102,
in the Towles Court Artist Colony. To mark the gallery’s new location in the
center of Towles Court, a special showing of hand-hooked rugs by
nationally-recognized artist Joan B. Gates runs through December 31. In addition, there are
painted silks from awarding-winning artist Sally Dillon. Back Allie Art also
features quilted pillows, evening purses, jewelry, shawls and scarves.
 Owned and operated by Bette Stevens, a Sarasota resident, Back Allie Art
opened in 2003, and was previously located in the back portion of what was
Sweet’s Coffee Shop in Towles Court. Stevens, formerly of Lenox, Massachusetts,
and co-owner of the Stevens & Conron Gallery, which she operated for ten years
until relocating to Sarasota in 2001, is herself an accomplished weaver.
Joan Kemeny Paru, Director of Major Gifts for Ringling School of Art and Design, has recently earned her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation. The CFRE certification is an internationally-recognized professional practice-based credential for philanthropic fundraising executives exhibiting ongoing high standards and professional achievement.
 Paru joined Ringling School in September of 2002, spent 20 plus years in fundraising for nonprofits in New York, New Jersey and Ohio. An alumna of both Syracuse University’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, she is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Southwest Florida Chapter. As Director of Major Gifts, Paru is constantly monitoring the pulse of emerging donor development trends. Having met all of the CFRE criteria, Paru has satisfied requirements for professional practice and performance, education and service, and has passed a comprehensive examination of knowledge and skills required of a fund raising executive.

In November the city of Sarasota honored Loreda Williams, Manager of House Operations at the Van Wezel, as employee of the month, Williams began her career with the City of Sarasota on April 9, 1980 in the personnel office at City Hall.
Sally A. Trout Interior Design has been selected by U.S. Assets Group to design a model at Orchid Beach Club, luxury condominium residen-ces located on Lido Beach. A graduate of Ringling School of Art and Design with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and a native Floridian, Trout has called Sarasota home base for her creative career since 1974. She has been designing interiors in Sarasota, Longboat Key and Casey Key as well as projects in New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Stockholm, Sweden. Trout has a design office on Coconut Avenue and a retail showroom at 1272 N. Palm. She specializes in up-scale residential design, offering services from furnishings and architectural details to accessories and art selection. Trout is a member of A.S.I.D., and has received the Aurora Award for her work.
 Baskerville, Swirles & Ward Advertising/Marketing has relocated to new offices, 1740 Main St., Sarasota. The agency also announced the addition of two new employees. Wren Ammend has been named VP Creative Marketing. Carol Lisciandro is the agency’s new Client Services Manager. BSW, the longest operating advertising agency in the area, is a continuation of Baskerville Advertising, founded in 1982. The agency changed to its current name in 1998. Ammend, originally from Bethlehem, PA, has 15 years of design, production and marketing experience in healthcare, printing and related advertising industries. Lisciandro came to Sarasota from Flemington, NJ. She served as the Downtown New York editor of the national retail art gallery publication, Gallery Guide, for five years prior to joining B/S/W. Lisciandro also has several years of marketing related experience in the medical and engineering fields.
SOULSPEAK recently named Program Director, Scylla Liscombe, as its new Executive Director. Lis-combe has been with SOULSPEAK since its inception and has partnered with Justin Spring, Artistic Director, (formerly doubling as Executive Director) in making SOULSPEAK an ongoing community resource. She received a B.S. in Dance from Radford University and has just recently added the SOULMOVES program to the organization’s many activities. Liscombe is also the editor of the organizations’ Sarasota Poetry Theat re Press, which has produced over 45 titles of poetry from its at-risk programs and the prestigious Edda Poetry Chapbook Competition for Women.

Beatty Cohan, psychotherapist and AuthorHouse writer, has been appointed by Florida’s Governor Jeb Bush to his State’s Commission on Marriage and Family Support Initiatives.
