Good Deeds
When Don Rowe experienced severe and sudden hemorrhaging last February and needed immediate care, he was rushed to Sarasota Memorial’s Emergency Care Center (ECC). Because of the expedient treatment he received from Dean Hautamaki, M.D., and Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMHCS) staff, he was able to achieve a speedy and complete recovery.

Don and Joy Rowe’s gratitude was the reason for their surprise announcement February 25, 2006 at Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation’s 30th Anniversary Corinthian Gala. The couple announced their $100,000 pledge to benefit the Foundation’s ongoing EMERGENCY CARE 24/7 We’re Always Here $15 million capital campaign. Their gift was made in honor of their close friend, Gala Chair and Foundation Trustee Margaret Wise, for her kindness and support.

In recognition of their generous support, a room in the new ECC facility will be named in their honor. Information about the Foundation’s ongoing EMERGENCY CARE 24/7 We’re Always Here campaign to assist in the funding of the Emergency Care Center can be obtained by contacting the Foundation office at (941) 917-1286 or visiting the Web site at www.smhf.org.
